Does it work without internet or if my phone isn’t near?
Yes, it works offline, so your thoughts are saved even with no signal. Index 01 also has built-in storage and can record for 5 minutes without your phone.
What happens if I’m not connected to my phone?
Index holds on to your recordings and transfers them as soon as it’s connected to your phone over Bluetooth again.
Why doesn’t it need charging?
Index is built to run for years on its own battery, so there’s nothing to plug in and no charger to keep track of. It also keeps the ring slim enough to wear all day, every day.
How long does the battery last?
2 to 3 years on average with everyday use. Most thoughts take just a few seconds, so the battery goes a long way.
What happens when the battery gets low?
The Pebble app lets you know well ahead of time. When it’s ready to retire, send it back to us and we’ll recycle it for you.
When does it listen?
Only while you’re holding the button. Let go and the mic is off, so it’s private by design.
How does it work with a smartwatch?
No smartwatch required! Index works great on its own with your iPhone or Android. If you do wear a smartwatch, Pebble or otherwise, it’s even better! Index 01 answers and feedback show up on your smartwatch.
How do I find my size?
The best way is our sizing kit. Choose “Sizing kit + Index 01” and we’ll send you a sizing kit before your ring ships. Index 01 comes in sizes 6 to 13, and the kit also includes 14 and 15 so you can be sure of your fit. Wear a sizer on your index finger for a day to find the one that fits best. If you usually wear a 14 or 15, fill out our interest form instead of ordering.
Skipping the kit? Have a jeweler measure your index finger, or take a ring that fits that finger comfortably and measure its inside diameter. Then match it to the chart below.

Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes, it’s water resistant to 1 meter, so brief showers and washing your hands are fine. Don’t expose it directly to hot water, steam or high pressure water. Take it off before you go swimming or in a hot tub.
What is your warranty?
Every Index 01 comes with a 30-day warranty. If there is a defect with your Index 01, send it back to us and we’ll replace it.
Since we ship to over 100 countries and only charge $75, we don’t offer returns, exchanges or refunds once an order ships. If you’re unsure of your size, choose “Sizing kit + Index 01.”
